The Best Summer Afternoon Tea Spots in Tokyo

While the cherry blossom season will soon be over, there are still a few spots in Tokyo where you can find the best sakura afternoon tea. A perfect way to celebrate spring in style, many of these options offer cute motifs, springtime colours and delicious pairings.

Blue skies, sunshine and afternoon tea, a perfect trio. To make it complete, we’re going to be sharing some of the best summer afternoon tea spots in Tokyo. From peach flavours to festival themes, there’s a little bit of something for everyone.

Finding the Best Summer Afternoon Tea

When it comes to Tokyo, there are lots of different places you can look to find afternoon tea offerings. Some of the most popular are in hotel restaurants, while others can be found in quaint cafés. I would always advise exploring a little bit to see if you can find something that suits you.

This article is about the best summer afternoon tea spots in Tokyo during summer 2022. In the future, I’ll be adding more seasonal creations from Japan. They will be found in either the Food & Drink, Afternoon Tea or Japan sections.

1. Peach Forêt Dessert, Aman Tokyo

Available until 12th September, the Peach Forêt Dessert afternoon tea at Aman Tokyo adds a summer-infused twist to their classics. This collection perfectly captures the flavours of the season, with a view of the Otemachi Forest in full bloom really topping it off.

The sweet treats here include a peach mousse and a lime soufflé with peach sauce, but it’s the puff pastry swan that really adds the cherry on top.

Address: Aman Tokyo, The Otemachi Tower, 1-5-6 Ōtemachi, Chiyoda-ku , Tokyo

Cost: ¥4,428

2. Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser, Grand Hyatt Tokyo

Available until 16th September, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo presents Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser. This charming afternoon tea experience runs alongside the Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser exhibition at the Mori Arts Centre Gallery, which examines the cultural and influential impact of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The sweet treats here include a Queen of Hearts tartlet, a playing cards chocolate mousse and a watch chocolate macaron.

Address: Grand Hyatt Tokyo, 6-10-3 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo

Cost: ¥5,720

3. Peach Afternoon Tea, Conrad Tokyo

Available until 31st August, the Conrad Tokyo is bringing all of the delicate peach flavours to the table with this afternoon tea. This is the best time of year for picking peaches in Japan and it makes sense to make the most of it while it lasts.

The sweet treats here include a coconut and earl grey panna cotta with peach compote, a white peach mousse with raspberry jelly and an apricot tart with peach cream.

Address: Conrad Tokyo, 1-9-1 Higashishinbashi, Minato-ku , Tokyo

4. Mango and Citrus Afternoon Tea, The Peninsula

Available until 31st August, The Peninsula’s Mango and Citrus Afternoon Tea is offering all of the flavours that we need on a hot summer day. If you’re melting in the heat and need something refreshing, this is what I would be quick to recommend.

The sweet treats here include a watermelon mousse and pistachio lime biscuit, a mango and shikuwasa tart, and a mango pudding.

9. Mango Afternoon Tea, Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi
